Civility Is a Discipline—Especially in Dangerous Times
American Jews are arguing with one another in a moment of real danger. That fear is heartbreaking and regrettably justified. But fear does not confer moral license. It does not excuse contempt, nor absolve us of the obligation to argue with care rather than cruelty.
