Tyrone Clarke, 16, was attacked by a 20-strong gang in Beeston on 22 April 2004, resulting in the conviction of three men and a 17-year-old boy, who were jailed in 2005. On Sunday, West Yorkshire Police confirmed a further arrest had been made and a man was being held in custody. Tyrone's mother, Lorraine Fraser, told the BBC she was weary of having to keep fighting for answers more than two decades after her son's murder: "I want to get on with my life as much as I can, I don't want this anymore but I feel like I have to carry on for my son." Tyrone was stabbed to death in Brett Gardens after being chased by a gang. During the attack, he was assaulted with weapons including metal poles and planks of wood, and CS spray was also used. Tyrone's mother Lorraine said she wanted closure after so many years "My son was brutally murdered, and I've had to live with that for 22 years," said Lorraine. "I would appeal to anyone with any information, please come forward, put me out of my misery. "I'm getting older now. I'm not as young as I was. I've got a broken heart." Paying tribute to her son, she said: "We had the best relationship. He used to torment the life out of me. He was a good son. "I miss him terribly." While I understand the urgency for justice, its important to remember that systemic issues in policing and the justice system need to be addressed. Every year, countless lives are lost to preventable crimes. Lets hope this new development brings hope to the Tyrone family, but also serves as a wake-up call for reform. #RestInPeaceTyrone #JusticeForAll
