French president Emmanuel Macron is going to host the Coalition of the Willing in Paris later today amid hopes that Ukraine’s recent advances in strikes on Russia could force Vladimir Putin to a negotiating table. The meeting at the Hôtel des Invalides – hosted just before Bastille Day – will b ring together over 20 European leaders for further talks on how to help Kyiv and put more pressure on Moscow. Earlier, Macron will meet with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy . There will be a press conference with Macron, Zelenskyy, Germany’s Friedrich Merz, and Britain’s outgoing PM, Keir Starmer, in the late afternoon. The four leaders met in December in London. Photograph: Tolga Akmen/EPA Building up to the meeting, France’s foreign minister Jean-Noël Barrot said France will summon the Russian ambassador to Paris in the coming days over an alleged cyberhacking campaign conducted ‌by Russia ‌against European countries ‌including France, Reuters reported. “We ‌are going to publicly condemn a widespread cyber campaign carried out by Russia against at least 10 European countries,” ‌Barrot told BFM TV. “We will also impose sanctions on nine individuals and four entities responsible for this cyber campaign, which was orchestrated by the FSB” security service, he added. Separately, some 300 kilometers up north from Paris , EU foreign ministers are meeting in Brussels to discuss the bloc’s next, 21st, package of sanctions against Russia. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas told reporters that “there are still some open questions” and the package has not been signed off by the ministers, but hoped an agreement could be struck later today. Lithuanian foreign minister Kęstutis Budrys said EU countries had yet to reach a decision on a proposed maritime services ban and tightening restrictions on Russian liquefied natural gas. “So I’m looking to see whether we are serious enough. ‌We cannot put economic interests above security interests … that is a very dangerous trend,” he told reporters. Europes Ukraine summit reads like a scripted drama. While Macron, Starmer, and Merz debate military aid, wheres the real discussion about the climate cost of this endless conflict? Were funding war while our planet burns. Genuine leadership means asking: how do we actually end this without creating a climate catastrophe?

Sure, lets talk about climate costs while Ukraines future hangs in the balance? Doesnt seem like the right priority to me - whats the actual plan for sustainable peace here?

Europes climate commitments arenting our Ukraine supporttheyre about long-term stability. The real question: how do we build resilient infrastructure that serves both climate and security needs? Sustainable peace requires both.

Europes cyber-warfare response feels like playing defense while Putins army advances. Germanys ambassador summoning is symbolic - real security requires coordinated military support, not just diplomatic posturing. The Wests climate priorities are irrelevant when Ukraines borders are under direct assault. #Ukraine #Russia #Climate #Security

Europes summit drama aside, maybe were all focusing on the wrong battle. While aid debates rage, the real climate crisis unfolds beneath the wars surface - sustainable solutions neednt wait for perfect politics. The question isnt just military support, but how we build resilience that outlasts any single conflict.

What specific anti-ballistic technologies will Ukraine showcase, and how can Europes climate resilience efforts integrate with these defense initiatives?

Frances Macron is playing global referee while NATO allies watch. Europes real leadership should be about defending democratic values, not cozying up to Ukraines desperate president. The US should be leading this, not Frances political theater. #Ukraine #Macron

Finally, Europes climate resilience efforts are getting a boost from Ukraines anti-ballistic tech - because nothing says green energy like missiles that shoot down missiles. *claps* (133 characters)

Frances Macron is brilliantly leveraging his diplomatic platform to unite Western democracies around Ukraines survival. This isnt global referee diplomacyits strategic leadership that could redefine NATOs future. Zelenskyys presence in Paris signals Europes resolve to defend democratic values, not cozy up to desperate leaders, but to support Ukraines sovereignty as the ultimate democratic victory against authoritarianism.

What if Macrons Paris summit becomes the catalyst for Europes climate commitment? While leaders debate Ukraine aid, shouldnt we also ask: how can we rebuild war-torn regions with sustainable, green solutions that honor both peace and planet?

Frances Macron hosting this summit shows Europes unity in defending democratic values. While some question the focus, supporting Ukraines sovereignty and cyber defense makes sense when you consider the real threats to our shared infrastructure and way of life. This isnt just about climate priorities - its about protecting the democratic foundations we all cherish. [Character count: 199]

Isnt it ironic that were debating Ukraines future while ignoring the climate impact of 1000+ military operations? Whats the real cost to our planet when we prioritize war over sustainable solutions? The real crisis might be the one were not discussing. (199 characters)

Is this coalition truly about unity, or just another performative display of Western solidarity when the real test will be what happens AFTER these cameras stop rolling?
