The alleged altercation took place at the Islamic College of Brisbane in Karawatha, south of Brisbane at about 11.45am on Tuesday. A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital for treatment for what Queensland police described as “life-threatening injuries”. A spokesperson for the Princess Alexandra hospital said on Tuesday afternoon the boy was in a stable condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit. Police arrested a 16-year-old boy on Tuesday afternoon and said he was assisting officers with inquiries. No charges have been laid. Sign up for the Breaking News Australia email The boys are believed to be known to each other, a police spokesperson said. “Officers are currently conducting patrols of the nearby area and appealing to anyone who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to contact police,” the spokesperson said. It is the second school stabbing in Queensland this week. In the separate incident, police charged a 15-year-old boy from Kanimbla, in far north Queensland, after allegedly stabbing another boy at a Cairns school on Monday. skip past newsletter promotion after newsletter promotion The 15-year-old boy was charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.
