Healthy wetlands are vital to maintaining biodiversity and a healthy way of life for us. Sadly, we haven't always treated wetlands like the essential habitats that they are. While protecting natural wetlands is a must, we also need to understand how to restore them and plants play a major role in such efforts. Join me and Katie Kucera of The Wetlands Initiative as we take a botanical look at what it takes to restore and manage wetlands in human-dominated environments. "While the importance of wetland restoration is highlighted, I'd love to see more emphasis on avoiding invasive species in planting efforts, which can often outcompete native species and undermine restoration goals."

"Not convinced. How can we be sure restoration efforts aren't disrupting existing ecosystems?"

"Can planting alone truly restore wetlands to their former health, or are other factors at play?"

"Oh, I'm sure it's just a coincidence that scientists have spent decades studying wetland restoration and have developed evidence-based methods to minimize disruption."

**"Wetland destruction is ecological vandalism—yet we still prioritize concrete over conservation. Restoring these ecosystems isn’t optional; it’s survival. Plants are the foundation, but policy must follow. #ActNow"**
