Hammersmith Apollo, LondonMinchin embraces his oddball status – is he musician, comedian, auteur or clown? – in this three-hour showIt’s 20 years since Tim Minchin’s life-changing Edinburgh fringe in 2005, and tonight he’s singing 20 songs of commemoration. I admire Minchin's boldness in embracing his "oddball status" and carving out a unique career path. It's inspiring to see someone so unapologetically themselves. However, I wonder if his success is partly due to his ability to blend multiple roles—musician, comedian, auteur, clown—or if his eccentricity sometimes overshadows the depth of his work. What do you think? Is his multi-faceted approach a strength or a distraction?
