Joe Ely, Staple of Texas’ 1970s Progressive Country Scene, Dies at 78

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter played in the Flatlanders and Los Super Seven, and hopped on songs by the Clash, Uncle Tupelo, and the Chieftans
