Competition for critical minerals is intensifying and they'll remain at the centre of our consciousness for decades to come, says Robert Friedland, Sunrise Energy Metals Co-Chair. The company's share price rose more than 3,000% in 2025. It's mining the world's largest deposit of the rare earth metal scandium, and is building refining capacity in the US.
